In my capacity as Executive Director, I report directly to the Board of Directors and have overall strategic and operational responsibility for staff, programs and execution of mission. I maintain a laser focus on our near and long term goals, core programs, operations, and strategy. I am responsible for ongoing programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and a consistent standard of administration, fundraising, communications, and systems. I actively engage and energize our volunteers, board members, event committees and funders. In addition to operational responsibilities, I focus much of my attention on expanding local revenue sources and fundraising activities to support existing programs and regional expansion while simultaneously retiring past debt. A major effort has been to deepen and refine all aspects of communications—from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand and garnering new opportunities. 

• GrowKitchen - Center for Fooducation • Founder and Proprietor (3/1/12 - Present)

The vision of GK is to provide a venue for people to gather and engage in all aspects of traditional kitchen craft. The GK venue offers a place for people to meet and learn from chefs and food entrepreneurs to deepen their knowledge and their relationship to food, family and community. In addition to cooking classes, GK is available for fundraising events, corporate retreats, team building activities, private parties and weddings. 

• Summerfield Waldorf School and Farm • Board President and Chair of the Development Committee (7/1/05 - Present)

I came to chair the Board and the Development Committee after eight years as a regular board member and officer. I have concentrated my operational efforts on fundraising and event production. Key successes include the Speakers Corner Series and Farm to Feast, a 300 person sit-down dinner hosted on the schools biodynamic farm.

• California Farm Link • Board President (7/1/06 - Present)

Since joining CFL, I have been highly involved in the reorganization of the management team and the development of a multimillion dollar micro-lending program. During my time as a board member and later, Board President, the organization was moved from Santa Rosa, CA to Santa Cruz, Ca. Additionally, the operational budget has grown from slightly over $300,000 to over $1.1 million, servicing a vastly larger market both with operating capital and land linking.

• GROW/BD Consulting LLC • Co-Founder

GROW/BD was a California based consulting service specializing in biodynamic systems management for vineyards, wineries and farms. As a founding partner, I was responsible for new business development and overall operations management. Due to forces beyond our control the partnership was dissolved and the business was sold to Philippe Cordrey who continues to service the original client base.

I work to help managers and team members understand the relationship of the economic, social and spiritual implications involved in every organizational decision. In addition I am often contracted to oversee new business development, networking and communications strategy. Clients include Nature Intelligence Inc., Bonny Doon Vineyards, Aarstiderne and many more.

• E-Licious.com  Founder and CEO

E-Licious was a multilingual recipe database capable of translating recipes between seven languages, generating meal plans, shopping lists as well as placing orders to online grocers.

E-Licious was based in Seattle, WA and Åre, Sweden, with offices in Copenhagen and San Francisco. In 2001, E-Licious was purchased by RecipeWeb in Amsterdam, NL. As founder and CEO I was responsible for building the original business plan, attracting investors, building an engineering, editorial and sales team, while maintaining overall strategic and operational responsibility.

• Yahoo! Scandinavia  General Manager and Launch Manager

After the launch of Yahoo! in Germany, France and the UK, I was hired to launch the Swedish, Danish and Norwegian Y! services. I joined Yahoo! first as a consultant and later as General Manager of the three Scandinavian properties. I oversaw operations, including sales in Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen as well as coordinated with European headquarters in London and Paris.

• Modern Times Group (MTG) • New Business Development Manager for New Media

As a New Media Biz Dev manager, I had many responsibilities in coordinating and pairing content with evolving technology. A large portion of my time was spent traveling the world investigating emerging technologies and looking for ways to leverage MTG's content in new and undiscovered ways.

 

• Bohusläningen Book Printing • CEO

In 1992 I moved with my family to Uddevalla Sweden to reorganize and digitize the art book printing division of Bohusläningen AB. During my time as CEO, sales offices were opened in New York and Stockholm and sales were increased from just reaching Scandinavia to opening new markets in the US, Germany and the UK.

 

• Metro Image Group • Owner

The Metro Image Group was a cooperation of photographers, video producers and designers gathered to service the marketing and communication needs of the architectural, interior design and real estate industries.

I have a BA in Photographic Arts and Sciences from Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara CA.
